Nine checks before you pay

Run these in order. Two failures is enough reason to stop.

Pressure ('this price ends in 10 minutes'), refusal to do part-payment on delivery for a first order, a bank account in a personal name that keeps changing, and any request to pay in gift cards or crypto for an ordinary retail item.
