What is a PingMart Protection Code and why should buyers ask for one?
The Protection Code turns a private WhatsApp chat into a recorded order. Here is what it does, what it does not do, and how to use it.
What it is
A unique code issued when you start a chat with a vendor through PingMart. Sharing it with the vendor links your order to their account on the platform, so the transaction exists somewhere other than the two phones involved.
What it does
It is a record and a deterrent, not an escrow account.
- Ties your order to the vendor's verified sales record.
- Gives you a reference the PingMart team can trace if you report a problem.
- Signals to the vendor that this order is visible on the platform.
- Feeds the vendor's public trust score, which is why good vendors want codes on every order.
What it does not do
PingMart does not hold your money and does not process the payment. You pay the vendor directly. The code makes the order traceable; your own judgement on part-payment and delivery still matters.
How to use it
Tap the WhatsApp button on any listing or vendor profile. The code appears before the chat opens — paste it into the conversation and ask the vendor to confirm it.
